INTRODUCTION

I’m Agnes Antal – a graphic designer, embroidery artist, economist, wife, and proud mom to a wonderful little girl. I've been drawing and painting since I was a kid, and art has always been a big part of my life. It calms me and helps me disconnect. My love for beauty and my drive to create come from my parents, who showed me how much beauty there is in the world – whether it’s nature’s little wonders or a gorgeous piece of art. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot and earned a few degrees, but my heart always brought me back to the creative side. I fell in love with embroidery in 2018, and I’m still amazed by how much beauty can be made with just a needle and thread.

HOW DID IT ALL START?

My grandmother taught me the basics of embroidery when I was little, but for a long time after that, I didn’t pick up an embroidery hoop. Then, when Sofi was born, I wanted to find a creative activity that didn’t require a lot of preparation and that I could do even when my little one was sleeping beside me. I needed something to help shift my thoughts and give me energy. That’s when embroidery popped into my mind again, and I was surprised to see how much it had grown into a true art form abroad over the past decade. Embroidery artists use thread and needles just like painters use brushes and paint. I instantly fell in love and began teaching myself.

WHERE DO I GET MY INSPIRATION AND WHAT DO I CREATE?

Nature, the animal world, and the colorful mix of hues always inspire me and give me plenty of ideas. I love planning my designs and picking the colors that go well together. As a graphic designer, I’m particularly drawn to creating illustrations for children, which is why I’ve created my own FAIRYTALE WORLD, where I stitch wall art for little ones and create other nursery decorations. I work with characters that I’ve designed myself, who, with their kindness and charm, aim to bring a smile to the little ones’ faces. :)

In addition to my creations for children, I also make embroideries that can become beautiful decorations for other parts of the home. Along with stitching flowers and plants, I also enjoy creating animal portraits using the so-called needle painting technique. It’s a wonderful technique that I’m still learning myself, but it holds so many exciting possibilities. You can see more of my work on my FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM pages.
